A Layout of Me!!!

I don't usually scrap myself. I have made a new vow to try and get myself into some shots and not always be the photographer.  In this layout I was whitewater rafting with my sister in the Smoky Mountains last summer! We had a blast! My sister was sure we would drown - but we didn't! This will definitely be something I do again! I hope you like it! Remember, you can click on any picture to enlarge it. I'm not quite finished, but wanted to get this posted quickly. The only Cricut cuts are the ovals and letters from Plantin Schoolbook.

Oldest Grandson

Did I mention that I also like to do digital scrapping?  Well I do! This was my first attempt. I used another "owie" picture - this time of my oldest grandson, Devin.  We did have to go to the ER for this one! He was trying to be acrobatic as he jumped in my pool - didn't work out for him!
I have a flash drive with digital elements on it. I chose ribbons and buttons and a "d" for Devin. The "d" was a different color so I changed it to match the ribbon. Can you see the stitching element I added? I thought that was appropriate! LOL! The two small picture frames are another element I added and put pictures of the ER Doc and the suture tray! Devin actually took the picture of the Doc!

Shape Book

This is a shape book I made for my grandson's first trip to the ocean. I take basic supplies with me on vacation and then hit local craft shops for papers I want. I made this entire book while we were away! He was almost 2 years old and he had the shaggy beach boy hair! This is one of his favorite books to look through and he wants to go again soon! I also have a blank book to show how it started out. The "Tahiti" stack from DCWV is my favorite "beach" theme paper and that is what I used here. I hope you like this book.

Another Grandson Layout

I have six grandsons - this is the 2nd one. His name is Clark. He was playing with his Daddy when Daddy tripped and knocked Clark down and landed on him! Of course they were at my house when it happened! I thought we were going to the hospital! Look at his poor face! It is hard to see but his head even up in his hair is bleeding! Daddy was crying - Clarkie was crying - Mommy was holding Clarkie - Granny was running around getting ice and wet cloths! Once we got him cleaned up and Daddy sent to the other room so Clark would calm down - crying Daddies are hard on kids - we decided to call the pediatrician and continue with ice and wet cloths. Everything turned out fine and dandy! Whew!

Scrapbook Layout!

This is what I was working on yesterday. I still take way too much time thinking about stuff to scrapbook and not enough time actually doing it! My daughter got the "Boys Will Be Boys" cartridge and I used it to cut the letters and the dump trucks (it does not have a digger on it!) I used my Gypsy to make a big tire and used hide contour to keep the center from being cut out so I could use it to journal on. I didn't use any fancy papers or anything except a couple of strips of road stickers. I'll probably put his name on the truck.

Crafty Day Today!

Today was a very nice day playing in my scrap room. I spent some time with a grandson and decided it was time to do a layout of his favorite thing! He loves backhoes, dump trucks, and mickers (his way of saying mixers)! We found a backhoe that was parked and no one was around. I let him poke around and play while I took a bunch of pictures. He was totally thrilled except that he wanted to drive it! Luckily I won that argument! I'll post pictures of the layout tomorrow but here are a couple of Criss enjoying the backhoe.

Isn't he cute?

Look how little he is!

Hello!

Wow! I have not posted in almost 10 days! What is up with that? I am blaming it on the end of year craziness at school! I have not been very productive in my scrap room this past week so I have no new pictures to post. I am happy to say that most of my end of year paperwork is finished at school! Yay! I will try to have something to post for tomorrow. Have a great night!

Another Challenge for MPS!

One of Robyn's challenges was to create a 3-D project. This is what I came up with. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More to cut a shopping bag as a gift bag for my daughter. Then I used Mother's Day Bouquet to create a set of flowers to stack and bend up for more dimension. I punched a hole in the center of the stack to add a brad as a flower center. The "A" came from Calligraphy Collection. I think it came out pretty well. Thanks for looking!

Challenges!

I wanted to enter some challenges for NSD.  Robyn, aka My Pink Stamper, has had a challenge each hour for 12 hours yesterday in honor of National Scrapbook Day! The previous post has two of the projects and here are a couple more. I am going to try to link them to My Pink Stamper's blog.

Kraft paper challenge (kraft card base, cream layer stamped, twine wrapped around cream layer, two tiny rhinestones)
Summer themed project (blue card base, white strip cuttlebugged, shiny sun from Accent Essentials,  rounded square from Mini Monograms, stamp I've had for years.)

Happy Mother's Day!

I was able to visit with my mother all by myself for a while today! That was very nice! Then my phone rang and it was my daughter. She was at my house to bring me Mother's Day gifts and I was not home! LOL! Call ahead, Aimee, you never know where I'll be!
I have busy crafting in my scrap room! I tried to catch up on blogs I follow yesterday to see what everyone was up to for NSD. I decided to do some of the challenges that were posted.  Then my camera turned up MIA! I think I'll use my ipod to try and take some pictures. Nothing can be as bad as that dinky little digital camera I have! I may have to invest in something a little more pricey in the near future! Stay tuned and we'll see how the ipod does!

Breast  cancer project (white card base, pink patterned paper, white cardstock cuttlebugged with Swiss dots, ribbon from Cindy Loo - I cut 2 and stacked them with pop dots,  "believe" stamp)
Cupcake project ( blue card base, cupcake from American Alphabet - I used sparkly paper on top layer, "Sweet Birthday Wishes" from a cupcake stamp set)

I've been having issues with my photography. Well, you can't really call it photography 'cause I am really bad at it! I took these cards outside and used my ipod to take the pictures. I think the colors are better but the shadows are worse. I guess I need a class! LOL!

DCWV BLOG PRIZES!

Just a quick post to tell you to head over to DCWV's blog to win some prizes for NSD! That stands for National Scrapbook Day and it is all day tomorrow! Like we need an excuse! What a great way to spend a day!

Home for E2!

I cannot decide where to put E2! I don't like the way the door does not open all the way unless it hangs over the edge of my table. I was on the Cricut Messageboard yesterday and someone said they designed with the door shut. Duh! What a great idea! The door does not need to be open unless you are cutting...so don't open it! For right now, I still have it sitting close to the edge of my table...but we'll see. Here it is!

Closed

Can you see my E on the other side of the room? I still use it daily!

Imagine Cards

I've had a bit of time to spend in my craft room. I want to create a stash of cards to have on hand. I fired up my Imagine and made this cute card. The card base is from a pre-packaged box and kind of a different color. I used the Imagine More Cards cartridge. The front image is not layered. The inside image is a printed rectangle with one layer of the circle and the little bird layer. Then I stamped the sentiment and finished up with dimensionals for some depth.

I promise this is the same blue as above!

A Card For My Mother!

I made a card for Mother's Day for my Mom. Great idea, huh? I have been wanting to try printing the sentiments on cardstock and cutting them out using the "Center Point" feature on my Expression.  I decided to get brave today! I printed the inside sentiment first and just cut it as a layer. I wanted the front to say, "Happy Mother's Day" inside a cut out.  I messed around with fonts and placements and then put the cardstock on the Cricut mat. I lined everything up perfectly and of course it was a disaster! Lucky that I was thinking ahead and printed the sentiment several times! After a few tries I finally got it right! I am persistent like that! I used the Once Upon a Princess cartridge tag feature at 2 1/4 " for the shadow layer. The top layer with the sentiment was cut at 2" using "Center Point". I will be using this function much more regularly now! I love how the sentiments look when printed on the cardstock.

I Got To Play Today!

My brother, Michael, has been in town since Thursday for the Country Music Marathon in Nashville.  My new E2 came on Friday while we were at the Expo for the Marathon. Sooooo.... I did the good sister thing even though I wanted to play! The Marathon was Saturday and took up a good part of the day. Soooo... today I got to play! I made a very simple card using my new E2! I used two different pre-loaded carts. Cricut American Alphabet has the "You did it" and  Just A Note has the ribbon. I will be putting a photo on the inside.  Hope you like the card and the photos!
